Purim 2026 begins Monday night, March 2, and continues through Tuesday, March 3 (extending over Wednesday in Jerusalem)
The festival of Purimcommemorates the Divinely orchestrated salvation of the Jewish people in the ancient Persian Empire from Haman’s plot “to destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews, young and old, infants and women, in a single day.” It is celebrated with Megillah readings, gifts of food, charity, feasting, and merriment.....The Fast of Esther (Taanit Estheror "Esther Fast") is a dawn-to-nightfall fast held on the day before the jolly holiday of Purim...It commemorates the fasting of our ancestors in response to the dramatic chain of events that occurred during their exile in the Persian empire. These events are recorded in the Book of Esther, and the salvation that came about at that time is celebrated on the holiday of Purim.....

Pesach (Passover) 2026 is from April 1 to April 9, 2026....

Passover is celebrated by Jews every year, commemorating the anniversary of our miraculous Exodus from Egyptian slavery, as told in the Bible......

On the first two nights of Passover (just the first night in Israel), we hold a Sedar After candles have been lit...we enjoy a ritual-rich 15-step feast, which centers around telling the story of Exodus . drinking 4cups of wine and dipping veggies into salt water ...the children kicking off the storytelling by asking the Four Questions (Mah Nistahah eating matzah a cracker-like food, which reminds us that when our ancestors left Egypt they had no time to allow their bread to rise) and bitter herbs and singing late into the night.......

Pesach Sheni 2026...the second Passover....Pesach Sheni 2026 is observed on 2 May 14 Iyar)....Pesach Sheni means "Second Passover [Sacrifice]." It marks the day when someone who was unable to participate in the Passover offering in the proper time would observe the mitzvahexactly one month later. It is customary to mark this day by eating matzah shumramatzot if possible—....
